- Abstract
Processes in a rarefied flow of methane activated by a high-energy electron beam have been studied as dependent on the gas pressure and the electron energy and total current. The electron beam initiates reactions leading to the conversion of methane into molecular hydrogen. The conversion coefficient has been determined as a function of the process parameters. By selecting proper parameters, it is possible to provide for a high rate of the conversion reaction. © 2005 Pleiades Publishing, Inc.
