- Abstract
The objective of this work is to analyze the role of the professor of the Law course in the incentive to scientific research. In the first section, we sought to understand the role of the teacher in Higher Education Institutions in the formation of the legal professional. Subsequently, it was evaluated how research can contribute to the teaching and learning process. Finally, it was pointed out the role of the teacher as an incentive to the scientific production within the course of Law. For that, a field research was drawn that verified data collected between undergraduate and graduate students, both broad and strict sense, and pointed out the importance of the educator in the development of academic work. As a result, it was obtained that legal education should not be restricted to lectures and scientific research has proved to be a necessary tool for higher quality teaching. In addition, the teacher must be a motivating role of the students in the research trajectory, since it is the link between the student and the research.
