- Abstract
The article presents case study of a 11-month-old boy named Charlie Gard, who was diagnosed with a rare encephalomyopathic mitochondrial DNA depletion syndrome. Topics discussed include information on use of experimental nucleoside therapy upon the patient; information regarding medical, ethical and financial implications of experimental treatment with reference to the case; and need for developing mechanisms for clinical decision-making by India.
