- Abstract
An essay is presented that discusses the views of theologians Thomas Aquinas and Martin Chemnitz on the Christian doctrine of the Hypostatic Union, the belief that religious figure Jesus Christ was simultaneously human and divine. The works "Summa Theologiae," by Aquinas, and "De Duabus Naturis in Christo," by Chemnitz, are addressed as Roman Catholic and Lutheran approaches, respectively. It is said that these works are relevant for ecclesiology and ecumenical discussion.
