This article reports that on April 25, 1995, the Indiana state assembly voted to override Governor Evan Bayh's veto of a bill requiring women to observe an 18-hour wailing period between requesting an abortion and obtaining the procedure; the state senate had voted to overturn the veto the previous day. Begriming in September, Indiana women seeking an abortion will have to make two visits to a provider and will be required to receive state-mandated counseling.
