- Abstract
The article presents a study on the role of renal transplantation in patients with nephrogenic systemic fibrosis (NSF). NSF is a fibrosing disorder in kidney disease patients after gadolinium (Gd) administration characterized by hardened skin with plagues or papules. The release of Gd from its chelate leads to deposition of Gd and iron leads fibrosing process but with renal transplantation decreases the rate of transmetallation.
