- Abstract
The article discusses the shingles vaccine and the quadrivalent human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine, the recently approved vaccines relevant to dermatology. It provides an overview of the role of vaccines in disease prevention and in the elimination of the smallpox. It relates the reason behind the poor compliance with the measles/mumps/rubella vaccine. It describes the potential of the shingles vaccine to reduce the morbidity of herpes zoster. Information is presented on the potential of the HPV vaccine.
