- Authors

- Abstract
This article explores the challenges faced by Kurdish autonomous regions in Iraq and Syria. The Kurds are facing threats from regional powers such as Iran and Turkey, as well as internal challenges from the central governments in Baghdad and Damascus. In Syria, Kurdish forces are facing opposition from Arab militias and intense bombardment from Turkey. The Syrian regime, Iran, and Turkey all have an interest in destroying the Kurdish entity in northeast Syria. The Kurds are seeking political support from the United States to ensure their place within Syria. In Iraq, the central government in Baghdad is tightening its grip on Kurdish affairs, and Iranian-backed militias are taking control of disputed territories. The article emphasizes the importance of continued US support for the survival and stability of Kurdish autonomy in both countries.
