- Title
KENYA: 'Dirty Debt'.
- Abstract
The article focuses on what is called the dirty debt of more than 32 billion Kenyan Shillings or 358 million U.S. dollars (USD) being paid by the Kenyan government to the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK). The loan incurred by the Kenya African National Union (KANU) more than 20 years ago, it says, was due to overdrafts of ministries as to the weak fiscal framework in the 1990s. It also notes the entry of MobiKash African commerce service in Kenya and the expected weakness of the Kenyan Shilling.
