- Abstract
This article profiles the Polish poet Czeslaw Milosz and his translation of the Old Testament psalms into modern Polish. The author offers a biographical sketch of Milosz and focuses on a translation of Psalm 1 into English from Milosz's text. The author discusses the translation of the words happy and blessed, one and many, and general issues concerning translations from the Torah. The author also draws several lessons from the poet's translation of biblical poetry.
