- Title
On retrojecting later questions from later texts: A reply to Richard Bauckham.
- Authors
Meier, John P.
- Abstract
The article offers a response to the article "The Brothers and Sisters of Jesus: An Epiphanian Response to John P. Meier," in which Professor Richard Bauckman comments on the author's (Meier's) position that the brothers and sisters of Jesus Christ probably were his siblings. Topics include Bauckman's view that the siblings are children of Joseph, the use of the 2nd-century Apocryphal Gospels, namely Peter, James, and Thomas, as historical sources, and the Greek word for brother, or adelphos.
