- Abstract
Inula racemosa is a species of Inula racemosa Hook. F (Asteraceae), also known as Pushkarmool, is a well-known Indian medicinal plant. It is known by a variety of names throughout the world, particularly in India. Pokharmul in Hindi and Guajarati, puskarmula in Canada, and Indian elecampane in English are some of the names for this plant. As mentioned in Ayurveda, the plant is a very significant commercial medicinal herb. It is used to treat cardiovascular disease, respiratory diseases, including asthma, bronchitis, and cough, as well as anti-inflammatory, antiarthritic, hypoglycemic, and antianginal effects. Chemical components include glycosides, tannins, flavonoids, alkaloids, steroids, phenols, saponins, proteins, and amino acids. We investigated the anti-inflammatory effect of Inula racemosa Hook. In vitro F using a protein denaturation inhibition technique and stabilization of human red blood cells (HRBC). The study's standard medication was Diclofenac sodium. The findings revealed that there was the possibility of an anti-inflammatory action. The animals were given arthritis by injecting Freund's Complete Adjuvants (FCA) into their planter surfaces, and the injection of 0.1 ml of FCA caused inflammation. 100 and 200 mg / kg extract 100 & 200 mg/kg and FCA-induced arthritis mice were produced. paw edema model, a 100 mg/kg dose was given orally along with the usual medication Diclofenac sodium (10 mg/kg) for 28 days. Hb, WBC, RBC ESR, biochemical parameters, body weight, paw edema, and joint diameter were calculated.
