- Abstract
The article "Mortuary Vitality. Empathetic Sense of Experiences in Funeral Services" analyzes the experiences and feelings in funeral services. The study was conducted in Tuxtla Gutierrez, Chiapas, Mexico, through interviews with funeral employees. The importance of the bond between employee and deceased is highlighted, and how empathy transcends the limits of life and takes place in the face of death. Additionally, it is mentioned that funeral rituals aim to ensure a continuation of life after death and alleviate the pain of the bereaved. The article also reflects on the relationship between funeral employees and death, and highlights how the aesthetic work on the corpse seeks to restore the image of socially significant beings. It emphasizes that funeral service is not just about fulfilling commercial transactions, but about recognizing the human dignity of the deceased and paying tribute through the people who knew them.
