- Abstract
The present research is a pilot study for the research of social representations about the Holocaust in three ethnic groups of Latvia, i.e. Russians, Latvians and Jews. The goal of this study is to discover the contents of the representations about the Holocaust of representatives of these groups in order to obtain a base for constructing of the questionnaire and further social-psychological research. Nevertheless, the results are interesting enough to be widely announced. Considering the context and the topicality of the present study, one should take into account the attempts of the Latvian state to create the entire space of the historical memory according to the European tendencies for the sake of integration of all strata. Before the integration one should clearly understand the primary cognitive and emotional material. At the same time no psychological investigations of the Holocaust consequences have been conducted in Latvia.
