- Abstract
The purpose of the project was to implement an occupational health program in an automotive-specific organization, following which the aim was to improve the musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) of the identified employees, by at least 10% compared to the current moment. This has led to a reduction in absenteeism caused by these conditions. The goal was both employee benefits and organizational benefits. Within this company, 20% of employees were identified with AMS according to the annual synthesis of medical examinations. As a continuous quality improvement strategy for the organization we used the Six Sigma method. The information needed to combat musculoskeletal disorders was collected through the observation method in the production area, where the behavior of the target group was analyzed. After analyzing the collected data and selecting the most important causes for AMS, a series of measures that can be implemented within the company to improve musculoskeletal disorders, as well as an improvement program for the most common AMS, resulted. The overall conclusion is that the results obtained by conducting this research can be put into practice within the organization to train employees on proper posture during work, resulting in healthy gainful activity for their bodies.
