The author discusses the phonological plausibility of linguistic implication in the tone reversal of Kajkavian dialect in Croatia. He states that the neoacute state of the Proto-Slavic language is reflected in a long rising accent with distinctive pitch on long vowels of the Kajkavian tone. The author notes that an opposite distribution of falling accent is exhibited in the Croatian pitch.
