- Abstract
Nonlinear optical bulk single crystal of bisguanidinium hydrogenphosphate monohydrate (G2HP) was grown by Sankaranarayanan-Ramasamy (SR) method using water as solvent. Bulk growth of G2HP crystal by SR method is reported for the first time. An optical element was prepared from the bulk SR grown G2HP crystal. Cut off wavelength and optical transmission window of the crystal was assessed by UV-Vis-NIR study. The refractive index of the crystal was found. The laser damage threshold value was determined. The particle size dependent second harmonic generation efficiency for G2HP was evaluated, which established the existence of phase matching behavior in G2HP. The second harmonic generation of bulk G2HP crystal was investigated by the Maker fringes technique. The birefringence study was carried out for the grown crystal to confirm its optical homogeneity.
