In a brief article, the author discusses the work of the Turkish artist Hale Tenger. Particular focus is paid to her 2007 installation "Where the Winds Rest," which consisted of a darkened room filled with metals fans and projections of words from a poem by the Turkish poet Edip Cansever. The author argues that the installation makes reference to a devastating fire in 1922 that killed thousands of Greeks living in the city of Izmir, Turkey.
