The article looks at several incidents in British Columbia involving alderman Samuel D. Schultz. These incidents include a controversy surrounding the playing of baseball on the Sabbath, plans to build a bridge over the narrows in Vancouver Harbor, and Schultz's appointment as Judge of the County Court.
