- Abstract
A reprint of the article "A Rosh Hashanah Sermon," by Marcus Katz which appeared in the October 13, 1889 issue of the "Daily Courier" in San Bernardino, California is presented. The Jews in San Bernardino, California celebrated the New Year 5650 by greeting the new year in silent and solemn devotion, paying homage to the Divine Being, who created rules and governs the universe. According to the Hebrew chronology, the date of the creation of the world begins in the first day of the year 5650, which is also called 1889.
