The article presents information and photographs that relate to the Jewish community in the western part of the U.S. Texts and images are presented for Ramona Wolf hotel operator from Temecula, California, Sid Grauman and Baron Maurice de Rothschild, head of the French house of Rothschild, Eugene Meyer Jr., an international banker who purchased the "Washington Post" and "Newsweek Magazine," David Hyman, a pioneer in the development of early Aspen, Colorado, Siegfried G. Marshutz, one of the founders of the Federation of Jewish Charities of Los Angeles, California, and Abraham Blackman, a Jewish activist. The article also offers information on The Non Pareil, a dry goods store in Sacramento, California and the Temple Israel of Stockton, California.
