The article describes a case of sealer's finger that was seen at a hospital in rural Newfoundland. Sealer's finger is a severe infection observed in sealers. Delay of diagnosis or treatment can result in permanent stiffness or loss of the affected finger. It can progress from a cellulitis to arthritis with eventual joint dissolution and healing by ankylosis. It is treated with the tetracycline or its chemical derivative deoxycycline.
