- Abstract
The article discusses the relevance between the Law of the Sea and human rights. It mentions that the Law of the Sea stands as one of the oldest branches of international law which has its own specialists, a framework general convention and an international Tribunal. Several cases are cited, the judgments of which are said to observe provisions under the Law of the Sea (LOS) Convention of the United Nations (UN) which stress the protection of the individual. It also relates how the Law of the Sea can be used in the application of human rights laws.
