Advances in testing and ethical challenges.
- Authors
Skirton, Heather
- Abstract
The author discusses some of the advances that have taken place in genetic testing as well as some of the ethical challenges pertaining to genetic testing. Genetic tests often have characteristics that can complicate the clinical decision-making process for both patients as well as health professionals, creating ethical and moral challenges. She highlights the latest guidance by the American College of Medical Genetics (ACMG) on handling incidental findings from genetic sequencing.
