The article reports on the occurrence of cystic adventitial disease of the saphenous vein in pigs. Adventitious bursitis of the hock is reportedly a common abnormality in pigs that develops in the subcutaneous connective tissue. Some of the authors have found that the disease is correlated with the type of floors on which the pigs are housed.
