- Abstract
The article deals with the territorial fragmentation and diverse power structures in the Holy Roman Empire, which influenced Jewish life. It shows how the religious boundary crossing of baptism and intra-family conflicts affected Jewish life. The authors emphasize the importance of territorial fragmentation and the mixed-confessional structure for Jewish life in the Holy Roman Empire. Two essays are presented that deal with the handling of different religious groups with divergent calendar systems and Jewish foundation activities. The use of relational databases for analyzing Jewish networks in the 17th and 18th centuries is also described.
