- Abstract
The article presents a study on the clarification of the degree of decayed wood in Magnolia obovata based on compressive strength (CS). The decay estimation was carried out with the use of a Fractometer alongside with the analysis of the relationships between CS and the contents of the chemical components via three types of fungi namely brown rot, white rot, and soft rot fungi. The potential of Fractometer to detect CS decrease in the early stage of decay is manifested by the results.
