- Abstract
The article discusses the legal obstacles to seasteading that includes an analysis of potential risks and liabilities under the U.S. admiralty criminal law, because the U.S. exercises broad power over the high seas. The Seasteading Institute (TSI) defines sea steading as the creation of permanent dwellings on the ocean or homesteading on the high seas. It suggests that seasteaders should approach an incredible set of technological and legal obstacles.
