- Abstract
Investigates the relationship between parathyroid hormone (PTH) and bone in a model of aluminum-related renal osteodystrophy. Effect of the ingestion of aluminum in the presence of renal impairment on aluminum concentrations in the blood and tissues; Evidence of a low turnover rate of bone formation was found using the oxytetracycline double-labeling technique; Aluminum-loaded rats with chronic renal failure showed various concentrations of immunoreactive PTH.
