- Abstract
The article offers information on the significant role played by pharmacists in different processes of procedural sedation and analgesia (PSA) given to patients in emergency department (ED). Pharmacists help in the preprocedure evaluation process by reducing risks of respiratory depression and hypotension and also play an important role in forming a pharmacologic plan by selecting the type of procedure to be performed. Their assistance in other functions like drug selection is also discussed.
