The article offers information on a study conducted by the authors on the maxillomandibular advancement (MMA) for treatment of persistent obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) syndrome in patients lacking maxillomandibular deficiency after phase I surgery. Topics discussed include effectiveness of MMA for OSA treatment, increase in patient satisfaction, non-significance of poromandibular joint dysfunction and postoperative facial esthetics.
