- Abstract
The article discusses the distinction between faith in God and faith in politics in the context of the anti-apartheid movement in South Africa. While focusing on the emergence of Black Theology in South Africa, the author explains the potentiality of religious politics in motion, from reactionary to radical. He explains the significance of serving Jesus Christ in a revolutionary movement to end racism and oppression overlapped for a vocal group of women and men in South Africa. This Black Theology perceived Jesus Christ as a revolutionary who stood for the marginalized and disempowered.
