- Authors
Brumm, Walter A.
- Abstract
The article discusses the question of euthanasia in a German Pietist group such as Harmony. It discusses the translation by Gertha Reinert of George Rapp's response to a Shaker inquirer which led the translator to suggest that Harmonists practiced euthanasia. It recounts the events that led up to the controversy sparked by the translation. It explores the actual response found in the Shaker archives to confirm or deny the suggestion that Rapp approves of euthanasia.
