- Abstract
This article discusses the process of selecting industrial gas suppliers and emphasizes the importance of considering integration synergies between the gas supplier and the chemical producer. It suggests that the traditional request for proposal (RFP) process often fails to capture these synergies, which can result in significant cost savings. The article proposes an expanded supplier selection approach that involves dialogue between the gas supplier and the consumer facility to optimize trade-offs between operational and commercial requirements. It also discusses the use of solidification and handling systems for various chemicals and highlights the benefits of using the Rotoform rotary drop depositor. The text emphasizes the need for accurate pricing and sizing of backup systems to ensure continuous gas supply. Overall, the article suggests that consumers should consider both technical and commercial integration opportunities when selecting an industrial gas supplier.
