- Abstract
The article discusses the reasons why few physicians refer patients to diabetes education programs. Topics covered include lack of awareness, confusing referral processes, and poor communications between physicians and program personnel as the main reasons. Recommendatons to increase referrals include developing catalogues of what programs offer, physician meetings with program personnel and referral form revision.
