- Title
THE DEVELOPMENT OF FIXED RABIES VIRUS IN MOUSE BRAIN.
- Authors
Johnson, Richard T.; Mercer, E. H.
- Abstract
This article informs that rabies was the first virus infection described clinically and the first virus to be studied intensively in the laboratory, its earlier failure to grow in cell cultures resulted in a paucity of studies of its structure, biochemical composition, and intracellular development. The recent adaptation of rabies virus to cell culture has permitted several studies of its nucleic acid composition, antigen development, and ultrastructure in cell culture systems. In addition, electron micrographs of fixed and street strains of rabies virus in mouse brain have recently been published.
