- Abstract
The role of library and information specialists is currently increasing to unite efforts to make science more accessible and better understood, to conduct evidence-based discussions with scientific research on the main issues of our time, with a focus on bridging the knowledge gap and benefiting from the technological revolution in the world of artificial intelligence, to serve the information society in general and the field of research. In particular, it introduced and invested artificial intelligence techniques in its activities to achieve the three functions entrusted to it (teaching - scientific research - and community service). As well as identifying the most important challenges facing faculty members and researchers in the field of libraries and information towards the use of artificial intelligence tools and benefiting from them in the field of scientific research. Representing all members of the academic staff who are specialists in the field of libraries and information, and the study reached many results, the most important of which are: Self-learning was the most frequent method of acquiring knowledge of artificial intelligence tools, with a rate of 47.9% of the total choices of the study sample. The most important tools were for intelligence. The artificial intelligence used in searching for and obtaining information sources is Google scalar by 54.7% of the study sample, and one of the most important artificial intelligence tools used to search within files and texts and obtain them is Data search by 47.2% of the study sample and other results.
