- Abstract
The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of :fi:esh Lycium chinense Miller (LCM) on growth performance and blood traits in White Roman geese. Sixty females were randomly divided into control group and 3 treatments. Percentage of 0, 5, 10, and 15 of fresh LCM were added in treatments, respectively. The results showed that there were no significant differences between treatments for total feed intake, body weight gain and feed conversion. Moreover, content of triglyceride and cholesterol were decreased by 28.3% and 6.6% that compared with control group when treating 10% LCM at 8 wks. Content of CHOL (decreased by 21.8%) was also lower than control group when treating 10%LCM at 12 wks. The levels of creatinine, serum glutamic-oxaloacetic transaminase, serum glutamicpymvic transaminase, TG and CHOL were no significant differences between each group. In summruy, there were no adverse effects on the growth performance and blood traits when feeding 15% fresh LCM in geese.
