- Abstract
In recent years, vertical shaft drilling rigs have been widely used in sandstone-type uranium deposit drilling. However, mechanical transmission of the vertical shaft drilling rigs brings the defects such as low transmission efficiency, insufficient reliability and large power consumption, which restricts the drilling efficiency and exploration process of sandstone-type uranium deposit to a certain extent. In order to solve the problems of low degree of automation, high labor intensity, low safety and environmental protection performance, low degree of integration, short feeding process and cumbersome operation process of the current vertical shaft drilling rig, a permanent magnet direct drive electric drilling rig (XD-10DK) was developed for sandstone-type uranium deposit drilling operation. In 2022, the XD-10DK electric drilling rig was successfully applied in the drilling project of 6 deep holes in the sandstone-type uranium moralization in the Chepaizi area of the Junggar Basin, with a total drilling depth of 4 809.74 m. This paper analyzed the construction situation of electric drilling rig and vertical shaft drilling rig in Chebaizi area, compared and analyzed the advantages of electric drilling rig in construction efficiency, green exploration, safety and environmental protection, intelligent operation, etc., the shortcomings of this type of drilling rig was pointed out and it was finally concluded that electric drilling rig has broad application prospect in sandstone-type uranium deposit exploration, and will be an ideal equipment for the transformation and upgrading of geological exploration drilling equipment and deep drilling in the future.
