STATES SEEK $600 MILLION BOOST FOR SRFS.
- Abstract
The article reports that six organizations representing state environmental and public health agencies urged the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) to increase its state and tribal grant budget in fiscal year 2007, including almost $600 million more for the Clean Water and Drinking Water State Revolving Funds (SRFs). In a detailed document delivered to USEPA Administrator Stephen Johnson on November 8, 2005, the organizations sought $1.4 billion for the Clean Water SRF. In the letter, presidents of the six groups said their proposal restores the reductions made to state over the past two years and adds a small increase to core environmental programs they have identified.
