- Abstract
The article discusses several letters on the expedition of professor John Wesley Powell to Rocky Mountains, Colorado in 1868 which were written under the pen name of Historicus to the "Vermont Chronicles" newspaper. Topics of the letters include the members of the expedition team, Colorado's environmental condition and abundance of natural resources, and the role of the Union Pacific Railroad Co. Inc. in facilitating commerce. Also explored are the aims of the expedition.
