- Abstract
The article discusses research which revealed that the introduction of prostate-antigen screening (PSA) has led to overdiagnosis of prostate cancer. It references a study which appeared in the August 31, 2009 online issue of the "Journal of the National Cancer Institute." It has found that an additional 1.3 million men were diagnosed and more than a million have been treated due to the introduction of PSA. It relates the increased diagnosis among younger men.
