- Abstract
The article discusses a study on trends in childhood obesity in relation to economic development in Denmark between 1930 and 1983. It says that obesogenic environment is believed to be the driving force of the childhood obesity epidemic. Also noted is that the increase in prevalence of obesity in both genders and all ages started before the economic growth. The research found out that economic development could not explain the trends in childhood obesity.
