- Abstract
The article discusses factors in decision-making in farming problems, based on a study of dairyfarmers in the Goulburn Valley irrigation district in Northern Victoria, British Columbia. Concerns examined in the study include changes in farming practices and motivation for the adoption of changes in farming. The hypothesis that recognition of the problem and knowledge of its causes influenced adoption of remedial measures is tested using the following problems: liver fluke, control of rushes, irrigation, and drainage. Contingency tables for relating recognition of problem and knowledge of causes to the four problems are presented.
