- Abstract
As the core equipment in power grid, the reliability of transformers directly effects the safe and stable operation of the system. And the moisture content is a significant indicator need to be monitored in running of transformers, which have great influence on operating state of them. In order to study its influence on the breakdown characteristics of oil-paper insulation, the pressboard samples with different moisture content were prepared in laboratory. The changing rules of dielectric characteristics with moisture content were tested, its functional rules of electric field distribution were analyzed by simulation as well. Moreover, the influence of above factors on the breakdown characteristics was verified by experimental method. The measuring results show that the conductivity and relative permittivity rise with the increase of moisture content, which causes the transference of electric field distribution into oil in oil-paper insulation system, and finally leading the decrease of breakdown strength of oil-paper insulation system with high moisture content.
