- Authors

- Abstract
The article presents news briefs about midwifery. Australia has closed one sixth of its maternity wards in public hospitals in the span of 10 years. Thousands of Cambodian women continue to give birth each year without a midwife or professional medical care despite funding from the government to increase health services. Canada's obstetricians have proposed a reduction in the number of induced pregnancies to help balance the record high levels of cesarean section deliveries in the country.
