The article talks about clinical statistics which concluded that shock wave lithotripsy has comparable treatment outcomes and significantly lower severities of treatment related-complaints compared to ureteroscopic surgery for patients with upper urinary stone who were admitted between May 2013-January 2014 at Sanjukai Urological Hospital, Hokkaido, Japan. It include evaluation of overall satisfaction and treatment associated complaints like pain, voiding symptoms, and psychological burden.
