- Abstract
This document is a summary of a special issue of the journal Applied Sciences. The issue focuses on pollutants and climate change, runoff, behavior, and adverse effects in aquatic ecosystems. The articles and reviews included in the issue provide knowledge on the adverse effects of climate change on aquatic ecosystems and the resilience of marine organisms in polluted environments. The geographical areas of interest include the Adriatic Sea, the Gulf of Gabès, and the eastern boundary current off the Chilean coast. The issue also covers topics such as environmental contamination in sediments, contaminant accumulation in organisms, the effect of climate change, and applications and technology related to aquatic ecosystems. The studies presented in the issue offer innovative ideas for monitoring and evaluating the negative effects of pollutants on aquatic ecosystems and highlight the need for interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary efforts in this field.
