- Abstract
The article presents a study on the identification of human parvovirus 4 (PARV4) in Brazilian patients with haemophilia, beta-thalassaemia major and volunteer blood donors. The study involves blood samples collected between November 2011 and April 2012. Hemophiliac patients were treated with commercial coagulation factor and activated prothrombin complex concentrates. The study determined a PARV4 viraemia rate and suggests that infection might be acquired parenterally.
