- Abstract
The article discusses the legal principles of a free press and fair trial as related to the trial of Bay Village, Ohio, physician Samuel Holmes Sheppard, who was convicted and subsequently acquitted of murdering his wife, in addition to the role of the U.S. Supreme Court in the case Sheppard v. Maxwell. The article also discusses the case Estes v. Texas.
